More exposure on the world stage was to come. Not only was I blessed with winning Gold at the Pacific Championship in New Caledonia that year, but I was also included in the South Pacific Team to represent the Pacific countries at the World Championship in Dubai that same year. I was ecstatic to win my first Pacific Gold medal, but I was even more blown away by the thought of going to the World Champions. This was something I only dreamed about, but to finally be going was amazing. Three weeks after the South Pacific champs I was off to Dubai, this was the first time that I have ever travelled to that part of the world. Dubai was amazing! The competition however was on another level. My take away lesson learned: experience plays a big part in this sport, as well as life in general.

Since I had no experience on the World Stage I was completely overwhelmed by the level of competition. It was so tough, and I did not place in the top 10 of my division. The experience was something special though.

As a Natural non-professional body-builder, I did not receive any financial income from competing, but was fortunate to have had the support and sponsorship from Joe’s Gym and Rokos Restaurant for my diet meals, and Roseberg Massage Clinic for my deep tissue recovery massage.
